When does the Henderson DMV close?
The Henderson office at 1399 American Pacific Drive closes permanently at the end of the business day on Wednesday, October 14, 2026. The Nevada DMV announced the date in a September 8 news release.
Until then, the office keeps its posted hours: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday. The Commercial Driver License office on Donovan Way in North Las Vegas closes even sooner, at the end of the business day on Friday, October 9. Both offices are folding into one new building in the southwest valley.
Why is the Henderson office closing?
The DMV says it can’t afford to staff and run both Henderson and a new south valley office, so it’s merging them. DMV Director Tonya Laney pointed to funding limits, and the agency describes the Henderson building as aging and outgrown. The new office adds more parking and enhanced ADA features.
The replacement is the new Silverado Ranch DMV at 9850 S. Valley View Blvd., which the DMV calls its largest facility in Nevada. It will have more service counters, more than 350 parking spaces, four outdoor walk-up kiosks and two drive-through kiosks for after-hours transactions.
Where should Henderson residents go after October 14?
Start online, then try a kiosk, then book a metro office. Most Henderson trips can be handled without visiting any building, and the ones that can’t can be booked at East Sahara, West Flamingo or North Decatur until Silverado opens.
Go online first
The DMV says registration, registration renewals, driver’s license and ID card renewals, address and name changes, and driver history printouts can be done through the MyDMV or DriveNV portals on dmv.nv.gov.
Use a DMV Now kiosk
Kiosks handle registration renewals, duplicate registrations and decals, driver history reports and insurance reinstatements. No appointment needed.
Try a AAA branch for registration
AAA’s Henderson (W. Sunset Rd.) and Green Valley branches handle registration renewals, duplicate registrations, movement permits, handicapped plates and placards, and duplicate titles. They don’t do VIN inspections, emissions exemptions or title transfers. Call first: Henderson (702) 727-2890, Green Valley (702) 727-2800.
Book a metro DMV office
For a Real ID, a new Nevada license, a drive test or a title transfer, book a free appointment at another Las Vegas office. Once Silverado opens, it becomes the closest full-service office for most of Henderson.

Silverado Ranch takes over Henderson’s work and the Donovan Way CDL services. It sits at 9850 S. Valley View Blvd., just south of Silverado Ranch Blvd., roughly 10 miles from the Henderson office. As of October 7, 2026, the DMV hasn’t announced an opening date. It says updates will be posted on dmv.nv.gov and its Facebook, Instagram, Nextdoor and X accounts. We’ll post the date on our Silverado Ranch page and in our latest DMV updates the day it’s out.
